accepts the Chair for Business Administration, Business Informatics in particular (BWL VII) at the University of Bayreuth on the 01/09/2004.

2002: Kai Rannenberg

accepts the newly-created Chair for Mobile Commerce at the University of Frankfurt.

2001: Detlef Schoder

accepts the newly-created Chair for Business Administration, Electronic Business in particular, at the Otto Beisheim School for Management (WHU), Vallendar near Koblenz, for the 01/01/2001.

1999: Günter Müller

receives the appointment for the Alcatel Foundation Professorship 1999.

Nadine Rückeshäuser, scientific assistant at the Department of Telematics at the Institute of Computer Science and Social Studies,  receives the Eugen Keidel Prize 2016. The award is given to honour her master thesis on the topic "Users' Acceptance of Decentralized Payment Networks: Evaluation of Trust and its Determinants".  Central to her research  is the emergence of trust, which is analyzed taking into consideration the system properties of Bitcoin. This also determines the topic of her dissertation, which deals with the economic potential of distributed ledger technology.

Dr. Thomas Koslowski, former scientific assistant at the Department of Telematics at the Institute of Computer Science and Social Studies, receives the Adolf Lampe Prize 2015. The award is given to honour his excellent dissertation with Professor Müller on the topic of "Resilience Management Information Systems - Achieving Sustainability in Turbulent Environments”. Central to his dissertation is the challenge that productivity gains, associated with the computerization of business processes, are subject to dependencies, which arenot covered by conventional business approaches such as risk and security management or "business continuity".  In case of resilience, the focus is on the adaptability of systems in order not to primarily avoid, but rather to resist occurring turbulences of any kind and origin, while still maintaining functionality.

Dr. Jens Strüker, scientific assistant at the Chair for Telematics at the Institute of Computer Science and Social Studies, receives the Friedrich-August-von-Hayek Dissertation award of the Albert-Ludwigs University of Freiburg 2006. The award is given to honour his excellent dissertation on the topic of "Individualisierung im stationären Einzelhandel - Eine ökonomische Analyse elektronischer Formen der Kundenkommunikation" (Individualisation in the stationary retail - an economic analysis of electronic ways of communicating with customers).

The Project ATUS of the Institute for Computer Science and Social Studies comes off third-best in the doIT Software-Award 2003 from Baden-Württemberg for its contribution to the topic of "Sicherheit und Benutzbarkeit durch Identitätsmanagement" (Security and Usability by Identification Management).

Dr. Stefan Sackmann, scientific assistant at the Chair for Telematics at the Institute of Computer Science and Social Studies, receives the Adolf-Lampe-Preis 2003. The award is given to honour his excellent dissertation on the topic of "Bilaterale Preisverhandlungen von Software-Agenten: Ein Modell und System zur Analyse des marktplatzspezifischen Verhandlungsspielraums" (Bilateral price negotiations of software agents: A model and system for the analysis of the market-specific negotiating leverage).

Dr. Holger Eggs, consultor at SerCon GmbH, IBM Business Consulting Services, receives the third price for scientifically well-founded and practical-relevant papers from the Foundation of Industrial Research, Cologne. His dissertation covered "Vertrauen im Electronic Commerce - Herausforderungen und Lösungsansätze" (Trust in the electronic commerce - challenges and approches).

Dr. Torsten Eymann, scientific assistant at the Chair for Telematics at the Institute of Computer Science and Social Studies, receives the dissertation award 2001 of the Alcatel SEL Foundation for Communication Research. for his dissertation on "Avalanche - ein agentenbasierter dezentraler Koordinationsmechanismus für elektronische Märkte" (Avalance - an agent-based, decentral coordination mechanism for electronic markets).

In the course of the "5th International Conference for Business Informatics 2001" (WI-IF 2001), from the 19.-21. September in Augsburg, Boris Padovan, Stefan Sackmann, Torsten Eymann, Holger Eggs and Ingo Pippow were awarded for their contribution "Automatisierte Reputationsverfolgung auf einem agentenbasierten elektronischen Marktplatz" (Automatised reputation tracing on an agent-based electronic market-place) with the Best Paper Award of the WI-IF 2001.

On the "34th Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS-34)" from the 3.-6. January 2001, Boris Padovan, Stefan Sackmann, Torsten Eymann and Ingo Pippow were awarded for their contribution "Automatisierte Reputationsverfolgung auf einem agentenbasierten elektronischen Marktplatz" (Automatised reputation tracing on an agent-based electronic market-place) with the Award for the Best Paper in the Internet and the Digital Economy Track.
