The research project EVENT was completed in 2007 and addressed the connection between economics and technology. The aim was to evaluate the operational use of technical network infrastructure. The project was conducted in three phases. In the first phase, the current technology options offered by the Internet companies were evaluated by means of expert interviews. Based on this, in the second phase, through a representative survey in Germany and additional technology-specific surveys, the status quo of technologies applicable in business and its importance to the product and pricing policy were raised. In the third phase, a selection of the results obtained was evaluated through specific interviews and further evaluated.
