Project description
Information and communication technology can develop their economic potential unless both economic values as well as the users' privacy can be trustworthy protected from attacks. The topic is rather urgent and of the highest scientific, economic and socio-political interest. The creation of a new DFG priority program was applied, which summarizes the forces of computer science, information technology and its applications across the university.
The concept of the center of gravity is now authorized to take into account system-wide aspects of security. Based on a reference scenario, the performance of the safety functions are detected. There will be work done on the following areas of priority:
1. Mechanisms and components of secure systems;
2. Secure systems (service functions, infrastructure, architecture, protocols, hardware, software);
3. Methods for development, selection and operation of secure systems.
