From E-Business to Social Business (Telematik II) (Vorlesung)

Kurzbeschreibung

New technological possibilities, such as the possibility to analyze vast amounts of unstructured data (Big Data), lead to fundamental changes in E-Business. In the wake of these new technological possibilities and the rise of Social Media, new business models emerge. This lecture presents the co-evolution of technology and markets. We will analyze the impact of Social Media and Big Data on E-Business and the transformation of markets and business models resulting from and in turn influencing technological progress. In that, students will learn to apply standard theories of (internet) economy in the context of evolving E-Business markets and acquire knowledge of Social Network Analysis. Additionally, we will discuss the privacy problems arising from Social Media and data-centric business models as well as techniques meant to protect privacy in the context of modern E-Business.
