Commercial Applications of Ubiquitous-Computing Technologies
Project: MoSel: Mobile communication and communicative self-identification
Project description
The current demand for mobile communication services shows the need for improved personal communication. The primarily centrally designed modern systems that resemble land line telephone networks necessarily require the presence of personal data in the system. The acceptance of personal services largely depends on how they are interpreted by the individual as an extension and not as a limitation of personal freedom. The project MoSel is aimed at designing a decentralized architecture for a mobile communication network with these considerations. At the center of the communicating party-oriented design is the Freiburg Communications Assistant, a personal module, which implements the interface between the subscriber and the mobile communication network.
