Project: inSel: Informational Self-Determination in Service Networks

Project description

The aim of the project, supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, is to enforce the right for information privacy in the scope of medical applications.

The service-orientation of future webusage creates individualized services, whereby privacy, the right for informational privacy and thereby the basis of legal regulations are undermined. In spite of all agreements, informational privacy cannot be demanded automatically. In a modifyed way, the same holds true for the electronic health card. Goal of the project is to expand the current, one-sided trust model in which users have to trust service providers which collect and pass on private data. In the spirit of information privacy, on the one hand, an identity management system is to be developed which allows the user to control the usage of their data when utilizing services. On the other hand, with such an identity management, service providers can legitimate the trust hat has been put in them.
